Collaborative Divorce
Divorce is an emotional, legal, and financial matter, and often times, traumatic for couples and families. There are choices, however, as to how to go about the divorce process. These choices include litigation, mediation, and collaborative divorce.

Litigation - a process where each party has an attorney to litigate their case in a court room, typically in front of a judge, if the parties are unable to come to an agreement about dividing their marital assets and parenting their children.

Mediation - a process where a couple uses a neutral 3rd party (i.e., a mediator) to help them discuss items they disagree upon and come to mutual agreements on all matters involving their marital assets and parenting.

Collaborative - a process that is private and peaceful where the couple, each with their respective attorneys, a financial neutral, and a mental health neutral professional all come together to discuss the best settlement for them and their family. All parties agree to collaborate together as a team and agree on a plan for moving forward separately. The process remains outside of a court room and promotes dignity and peaceful resolutions of all matters.
